Today's Campaign Update

The incident between Ocasio-Cortez and Yoho occurred earlier in the week and was witnessed by a reporter with The Hill, who said the Florida Republican called Ocasio-Cortez a 'f.ing bitch' after.

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

So, you're sayin' there's still a chance. – Hearts went to palpitating at fake media outlets all over the Texas news media yesterday when their hero, Irish Bob 'Beto' O'Rourke, said he just might be running for president in 2020. At least, that's the way Irish Bob's comments are being breathlessly reported on your Texas-based radios and televisions this morning.

Of course, as is so often the case with our fake news media reporting on Irish Bob, the reporting isn't exactly right. What the eternally cute and fidgety Democrat boy toy actually said was this:

O'Rourke said that he had just returned from a vacation with his family and was enjoying being home in El Paso. 'That's what we're focused on now,' he said. 'Just being together as a family, making sure I deliver everything I can to the people I represent until Jan. 3. Then Amy and I will think about what we can do next to contribute to the best of our ability to this community,' he said.

Then he looked at his wife in the audience. 'Amy, how was that?'

In other words, the beloved Beto did not say he might be running, he just didn't say an outright, unqualified 'no' when asked. But that was enough to set our 'Dumb and Dumber' fake news media off on another round of Betomania promotion.

Ocasio Cortez Update

Because of course it was.

Oh, and by the way, he's running. There's way too much money in it for him to do anything else.

Ocasio Cortez Watch:

Irish Bob's ideal running mate when 2024 comes around got into a little dust-up on Twitter with Senator Lindsey Graham on Monday. It went something like this:

I recommend she take a tour of the Holocaust Museum in DC.

Might help her better understand the differences between the Holocaust and the caravan in Tijuana. https://t.co/05vCexiClE

— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) November 26, 2018

Bazinga!

Speaking of Senator Graham… – The Senator from South Carolina has been on a roll lately. I missed this on Sunday, but he sent out a couple of tweets that afternoon that deserve to be noted, mainly because Graham has in the past – while he was following John McCain around like a little puppy dog – always been a dove on illegal immigration:

I support President Trump's decision to close the border until we can get a handle on the chaos created by the broken laws governing asylum.

We must have money for border security/wall and must change asylum laws.

— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) November 26, 2018

Folks, when we have looming armies of illegal immigrants behaving so badly at our Southern border that even Lindsey Graham is ready to just shut it down, what we have is an invasion, plain and simple.

Never forget that that's what this is: An invasion. Because words are important, and so is recognizing things for what they are.

It is also very important to remember that the people in these 'caravans' have no legitimate claim to asylum in the United States. Asylum is meant for those fleeing wars or other violent oppression from the government in their home country. The best fake argument that Democrats and our fake news media can come up with for these folks is that they are 'fleeing gang violence,' a term we see and hear repeated ad nauseum in almost every fake news media report on the matter.

Look, people in Chicago have a real problem with gang violence. So do folks in Los Angeles and New Orleans and most other Democrat-run big cities in the United States. No one in the Democrat Party or our fake news media is saying that their constituents in those cities have some sort of unfettered right to form up 'caravans' of 5,000 people and storm into Canada.

Cortez

These people are 'fleeing' poverty, nothing else. Most of them freely admit that whenever one of the few moderately-curious 'journalists' embeded with them ask why they want to come to America. Some of them are looking for work, others are simply looking to get on America's public dole, which Democrats have made so easy to abuse.

Even if this bunch had legitimate claims to asylum, they are in that case obligated under international law to seek it in the first foreign country they enter, which would be Mexico. Mexico's government has generously offered asylum to every one of these people, most of whom flatly turned it down. Real 'asylum seekers' don't get to do that. Fake ones do, apparently.

In situations like this, liberals love to get all teary-eyed and quote the poem on the Statue of Liberty, as if it is some sort of law (it isn't). Here is what that poem says:

'Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.'

Here is what that poem does not say:

'Give me an army of thousands of mostly military-aged males, your gangsters yearning to crash through our border checkpoints, The wretched grifters wishing to plant the flag of their home country on our soil and live off the generosity of our taxpayers.'

We are a nation of immigrants, that much of the liberal dogma on this subject is true. Legal immigration through an orderly process in which our country gets to decide, through its sovereign rights, who does and does not get to enter our shores, is a good and positive thing.

But this – this invasion – is not a good thing at all. Thank goodness we have a President who sees the situation for what it is, and deals with it properly despite all the false hysteria emanating from the other side.

That is all.
Postscript: I meant to include this terrific tweet from Buck Sexton in the original piece, but forgot. So, a little late, here it is:

Biggest media lies about the caravan crisis:

1) mostly women and children
2) mostly valid asylum seekers
3) no known criminals
4) wont make it to the border
5) no external organizers
6) troop deployment not helpful
7) no threat to US personnel
